The first two posts I did on the Crash Course series, I said I would eventually pass the torch to the girls and allow them to select their own History and Science topics as the year progressed. Well, the year progressed faster than I thought! O.K. maybe for one of them anyway… Honestly, I am pushing them to be more independent in a lot of aspects of their learning, so last week one of their assignments was to choose a Crash Course History and Science lesson for the coming week. The 12 year-old selected Eukaryopolis – The City of Animal Cells: Crash Course Biology #4 and found some great supplemental resources at our local library. I taught my kids how to use the library’s online catalog system a long time ago. Libraries are excellent sources of information; once a child knows how to navigate one, their learning opportunities are endless! The video is below and the list of supplemental materials follows.
